Delisiously  detailed, up-close acquantance with Saint Petersburg

Small joys and do-it-like-a-local tips for your big trips

What do we love about travelling?

Meeting new people, discovering new places not as a tourist but as a friend who came for a visit..

How to make your stay in Saint Petersburg as interesting and enjoyable as possible?

It is great to know someone local who can help with planning the trip and deciding where to stay while you are in Saint Petersburg, who can recommend the places to eat and go dancing, who knows the best exhibitions and can share time- and money-saving tips.

I love St Petersburg, that is why I can show you the heart and the soul of it, I  will open that brand new world of different state of mind, of another culture, strange food and weird drinks :).

I am Natalia

I speak English

Je parle français

I'm Natalia Dubovik but people call me Natasha

(I know, I'll explain in person).

I'm a city guide, photographer, teacher, author and owner of Photostroll-spb.com project in St Petersburg.

📍 I've been showing my beloved city to travellers for over 8 years.
📍 I was born in a town of Cherepovets, lived a year and a half in New Jersey, and moved to Saint Petersburg in 2008.
📍I graduated A Foreign Languages Institute and completed several courses on history, art, culture, architecture, photography and journalism.
📍 I'm an avid reader of books about Petersburg.
📍 You may see me with English, French, and Russian speaking tourists.
📍 I'm a proud cat owner. My Sophie likes to walk me on a lawn near our home.
📍I also teach English & Russian as foreign language, and work with theaters as interpreter.
📍I'm working on my very own guide book that will include lesser known and unobvious attractions and places to see.
📍 Recently written a cool & fun Russian phrasebook for travellers (French version is coming too!).
📍 I love contemporary French music.
📍 Once petted a koala, several kangaroos and a wombat - all in one day !
📍 I'm a big hugger. There are people hugged by me in every corner of the world

I offer :

  • walking tours

  • photostrolls that combine a tour and a professional photo session (yes, I'm also a photographer)

  • photo workshops that include personal photographic tutorship and a light tour along the way (no camera needed,  modern phone is enough to take great shots)

  • information support and advice before and during your trip if you need it

I am telling the story of the city and creating photo  chronicle of your travel experience while YOU are having fun and taking home great photos to share with friends and family.

My tours and photostrolls are not boring historic lessons. I am a story teller that won’t bother you with tons of facts, but rather entertain you with urban legends, interesting stories, and funny jokes.

I create vivid images of the years gone by based on historic facts and memoirs of people who lived in the city.

You will bring many of these stories back home.

You'll see the most famous buildings and panoramic views in the city, but also a piece of local life: the lesser known spots: cafes and anticafes in the hidden yards, rooves and former mansions now transformed in hip hang out locations.

Master your photographic skills, discover the city on a comfortable pace during a Walking Photo Workshop:

Get customized photography guidance if you come with your own camera or a modern smartphone.

I will give you some advice on how to get the best from your camera \ cameraphone and how to take great photographs of the city.

I will adapt our itinerary to include the best picture spots and views of St Petersburg.

Wow! Great guide for a customized tour

We had a great experience with Natalia on a customized photography stroll around some of the less touristy parts of the city. She is a super knowledgeable and fun guide and really knows the city well.

Fantastic Photographic Outing in St Petersburg

I gave Natalia of PhotoStroll SPb a mission! I wanted to photograph the St Petersburg the tourists don’t see and she totally exceeded my expectations. We hit the Metro and the adventure began. I would highly recommend Natalia to any photographers visiting SPb.

Trip of a lifetime!

We had the most remarkable family get together with Natalia.

Everything was perfect and was without a doubt our favorite family trip. We felt that Natalia (our guide) truly cared about us and did her best to make this trip a memorable one. This definitely has become the most eye-opening, adventurous, and stunning journey of our lives. Something we will always remember, draw upon, and cherish for many years to come.

We were pleasantly surprised by the diversity of our trip. We definitely will be back! :)

I booked two days with Natalia and they were the highlights of my week in Russia.

She provided essential details about what to prepare beforehand and suggested what would be the best way to truly discover St Petersburg. As a solo traveler and an introvert, I was a bit nervous, but Natalia seemed to know what I was hoping for and more. She is very friendly, attentive and understanding. Her passion for the city and history made the tours very informative, yet entertaining. I enjoyed learning more about the history of the city than I expected, through simple and fun stories, which made the trip more meaningful and memorable.

Peterhof was an excellent choice to unwind in the nature, aside from the palaces and fountains. The city stroll, starting from Peter and Paul Fortress, allowed me to understand the foundation of St Petersburg. Natalia pointed out interesting points along the trip and was always able to answer questions, with photos and references.

Khob khun ka, Natalia!

Thank you Natasha for the highly informative tour and showing us the city around.. it was such a pleasant experience with you. I highly recommend Natasha for you as  a guide for the place.!!

Great tour and photos of St. Petersburg - highly recommend!

My family (my son and daughter in their early 20s and myself) had a great tour with Natalia.

She took great photos of us, knew a lot about the city and it's history, and adapted to anything we wanted to do along the way.

She gave us great food/restaurant recommendations and even helped to make the reservations for us. Overall, a really great and informative tour, and Natalia is incredibly kind and helpful!

Highly recommend for anyone looking to see the city and get some awesome photos!

We had two wonderful long walks with Natalia, 30.07.18 and 5.10.18.

First was purely dedicated to Petrogradskaya district and another was sort of improvisational tour around the city center.

Natalia is unique in her deep historical/art expertise and ability to tell exiting stories about personalities, buildings etc that make you feel the intangible atmosphere of the place.
Though it rained during the whole tour , 3 hours passed very quickly.
Natalia also gave us some good advice about theater plays and restaurants.
When next time in S-Pb we'll definitely book another tour with her.

A new friend in St Petersburg - highly recommended

We did the classic city photostroll with Natalia for 3 hours in August 2018. She took photographs of us throughout the city, and the photos turned out to be amazing. A great way to remember our vacation.

In between taking photos, she would tell us about the history and the culture. She is an excellent tour guide, with a wealth of information on St Petersburg and Russia, and will show you some secret places not found in guidebooks.

She also took us to a hipster cafe which was a hidden gem for the locals, which was a very pleasant experience.

I wish we booked a 2 day tour of the city with Natalia instead of going on the bus tour (SPB tours). She is really friendly and we had a great time.

Absolutely brilliant - cannot recommend highly enough

We did two PhotoStrolls with Natalia in July 2018, namely a full day city PhotoStroll and a Peterhoff PhotoStroll.
This was our first visit to St Petersburg and Natalia was the perfect guide. She speaks excellent English and is very well informed, energetic and passionate about this wonderful city. She has a warm and engaging personality, and we thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her. Her enthusiasm is infectious and by the end of our four day visit we felt that we could not have had a better introduction to St Petersburg.
We have since received Natalia's photos of both PhotoStrolls, and we are delighted with them! The photos are highly professional and will serve as lifelong mementos of a wonderful trip.

Thank you, Natalia, for making this trip truly memorable!

Fantastic Tour

Had a great day with Natalia seeing the sights of St Pete in April 2018! Would thoroughly recommend for anyone looking to see the city from the perspective of someone who loves it. We covered a lot of ground - historically and physically - had good coffee and some great food; can’t ask for much more!!
